A BAD CHOICE – American Muslim groups were understandably upset to learn that President Bush had nominated super hawk Daniel Pipes to the board of the United States Institute of Peace, a federal think tank. Many of his statements and published works have prompted accusations of bigotry from Muslim and Arab-American organizations. The very idea of putting an advocate of force over negotiation onto the board of any organization with "peace" in its title seems odd.
